Terms of Use

Preamble

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and Awliyah ("Awliyah", "we", "us" or "our") governing your access to and use of the Awliyah website and mobile application at www.awliyah.app (the "Service"). Awliyah is a faith-centred platform that connects community members for one-on-one Qur'anic recitation sessions. Please read these Terms carefully. By using the Service you agree to them in full.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. The Service

Awliyah enables users to host or join live, one-on-one Qur'anic recitation sessions and to recite privately using the in-app Mushaf. Sessions are conducted through an integrated audio/video feature. The Service is provided for sincere religious, educational, and community purposes only.

4. Community Standards & Zero Tolerance

Awliyah maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward objectionable content and abusive behaviour. There is no acceptable use of the Service that involves any of the following, whether during a session, in a profile, in a recorded recitation, or in any other interaction:

• Harassment, bullying, threats, or intimidation of any user.
• Hate speech or content that demeans others on the basis of religion, ethnicity, nationality, gender, or any protected characteristic.
• Sexually explicit, nude, violent, or otherwise obscene content or conduct.
• Any disrespect, mockery, or desecration of the Qur'an, the Prophets, or the Islamic faith.
• Impersonation, scams, spam, or fraudulent activity.
• Sharing of unlawful content or any content that infringes the rights of others.

Users who engage in such behaviour will have the offending content removed and their accounts suspended or permanently terminated, without notice. By using the Service you agree that there is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.

5. Reporting & Blocking

Every user can report another user for objectionable content or abusive behaviour, and can block any user so that the two of you are never matched, and neither can see, join, or invite the other again. These controls are available from your session history and profile.

We review every report and act on objectionable content and abusive users within 24 hours. To report a concern directly, contact us at awliyahdev@gmail.com.

6. User Conduct & Content

You are solely responsible for your conduct and for any content you share, including voice recordings, profile details, and anything said or shown during a session. You agree to use the Service respectfully, in a manner befitting its religious purpose, and in compliance with all applicable laws. You retain ownership of your content but grant Awliyah a limited licence to host and transmit it solely to operate the Service.

7. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or our Community Standards, or to protect the safety and integrity of the community. You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Awliyah does not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, and does not endorse or assume responsibility for the conduct of any user.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Awliyah shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, including any interaction with other users.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Reviewed" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
