﷽
Many Muslims want to build a connection with the Qur’an, but they find it difficult to do so alone. Built by young Muslims, Awliyah was created to foster a sense of community and help make it easier for those looking to learn, those ready to teach, and everyone seeking a more consistent relationship with the book of Allah.

I'm building Awliyah to make it easier for students, teachers, and everyday muslims to find the support the need.

The Qur'an is meant to be recited and lived with others. I'm building Awliyah so that Muslims can find accountability, encouragement, and a sense of community

Recitation of the Qur'an never ends, yet it can feel isolating. I'm building Awliyah to help Muslims connect and support each other's recitation journey.
While Awliyah is completely free, your generous support helps cover our operational costs and keeps this platform running for the Ummah.

“Safe Gender-Separated Sessions”
As a sister, I appreciate the gender-separated sessions. I can focus on my recitation without any discomfort. Jazakallahu khairan to the team. May Allah reward you for facilitating this beautiful connection among the Ummah.

Yes, Awliyah is completely free to join, and anyone can host or attend open community recitation sessions at no cost. In a future update, we will introduce paid, teacher-led classes, giving students the opportunity to learn from instructors and directly support them.
Awliyah is built for everyday Muslims who want to strengthen their relationship with the Qur'an through consistency. Whether you choose to host a shared recitation session or practice comfortably on your own, you'll appear on our community map. This allows you to look around, see others reading in real-time, and feel a shared sense of community. While our primary focus is empowering everyday reciters, we also provide tools to help students and teachers seamlessly connect and facilitate Qur'an classes.
Shared recitation transforms a generally solo practice into a powerful tool for consistency and spiritual growth. Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, 'Any group of people that assemble in one of the houses of Allah to recite the book of Allah, learning it and teaching it, tranquility will descend upon them, mercy will engulf them, angels will surround them, and Allah will make mention of them to those (the Angels) in His proximity.' (Riyad as- Salihin 1023). While Awliyah is a digital platform and not a physical house of Allah, the core lesson remains: there is immense blessing in bringing people together around the Qur'an. Practically, reciting with a partner or appearing on the community map builds an environment of confidence and mutual accountability, making it easier to overcome procrastination, find motivation, and grow together.
We have a zero-tolerance policy for disrespectful or inappropriate behavior. Users can instantly report participants who violate our guidelines, and our team reviews reports to keep Awliyah a safe, encouraging space for the Ummah.
We are committed to creating a private, comfortable space for everyone. To ensure peace of mind, male participants are not permitted to join women-only sessions by default, and sisters have the option to exclusively view and join sessions created by other women.
The name comes from the Arabic root word 'Wali' (plural: 'Awliyah'), which signifies closeness, alliance, and deep protective friendship. Allah describes the Awliyah in Surah Yunus (10:62-64) as His close servants and friends who shall have no fear or grief, because of their faith and mindfulness of Him. We chose this name because we want to help build those close bonds (with Allah and with each other). By moving away from reciting in isolation and sharing the Qur'an openly, we can foster a supportive community of friends united by the Qur'an, striving together to get closer to our Creator.
